Refugee Health Care
Refugees and refugee claimants often face unique health care needs that are not fully addressed by the health systems in the countries where they seek safety. In Canada, for instance, health care for refugees and refugee claimants is provided through the federal government’s Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). Navigating and accessing health services under the IFHP are known to be challenging sometimes. One area of my research and advocacy concerns the IFHP, with the aim of improving refugees' and refugee claimants' health and wellbeing.
