About the event

Migrant workers make up a critical part of Canada's essential workforce. However, many of them are excluded from provincial and territorial health insurance programs. Kerian Burnett was a seasonal agricultural worker from Jamaica. When she was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, she was fired from her job and left without any health insurance. This panel presents her story and the experiences of those advocating for her and other migrant workers' right to health care.
